Carrie Fegley is the Assistant Market Manager with the Sunday Farmers Market for the last two years. She lives and breathes the mission of the market to support the local farmers/vendors in the community. She state, “This is a producer only market which means everyone that sells items here will have to had made it, its all wild crafted or hand crafted. The uniqueness about the market is that everything you see is grown and produced by the vendor.”

Fegley said, “the mission of the Sunday Farmers Market is two fold; first, it's to help with food and security in the community. Secondly, it's to help farmers and producers in the local area be able to bring their produce to market.” She believes when people are encouraged to keep it in the community, they are paying for someone kid

to have braces by supporting the vendor. Also, when the community spends their dollars locally it has such a big impact.

Owners Kevin Loth and Charuth Van Beuzekom moved from California and began Shadow Brook Farms, they brought their idea of supporting farmers to Lincoln Ne. The first location of the market was the Old Cheney Road Farmers’ Market. Loth and VanBeuzekom did farmers market in California and search for the perfect location in Lincoln. Since Kevin was a Seventh Day Adventist and found the parking lot at the College View Church was a perfect match. The market runs from April to November proving fresh fruits and vegetables to the local community. Fegley, believes that when you spend your dollars in the community, it circulates seven times, then if you would just go to a grocery store.

The Market is continuing to bring on vendors in the local area to expand the products that are being offered. Le Noir is a family own company originating from West Africa, specializing in brewed flavored coffee. Fegley, is excited about how the market is continuing to grow and the community is expanding. As Market Manager her goal is to help people to think of the Sunday Farmers Market as their outdoor grocery store.
